WASHINGTON — Zimbabwe’s election has been declared a fraud, said neighboring Botswana.
Reuters said that Botswana is not recognizing the re-election of longtime incumbent Robert Mugabe against his perennial challenger Morgan Tsvangirai in this past week’s presidential election.
The country called for an independent audit of the most recent disputed vote in Zimbabwe. South Africa’s president Jacob Zuma was one of the first leaders to endorse Mugabe’s re-election and would disagree with Botswana’s call for an audit.
Tsvangirai said this election was a fraud.
