WASHINGTON — According to a recent Reuters article, the Asian country of Mongolia has an environmentalist Neo-Nazi group operating as a political party.

mongolian neo nazisReuters said that the group, the White Swastika (or in Mongolian the Tsagaan Khass), is rebranding itself as an environmentalist group. Its main issue, said Reuters, is fighting pollution by foreign-owned mines and sending its 100-plus members to these mines to verify their mining permits.

At first, one would think that this is a joke. But, this group appears to be serious.

The group’s members wear black, SS-style Nazi uniforms and go from mining quarry to mining quarry. In the words of the group’s leader, Ariunbold Altankhuum, “Today our main goal is to save nature. We are doing things to protect the environment…the development of mining is growing and has become an issue.”

Al Gore would most likely be proud.
