WASHINGTON — Twitter, the social media platform known for their 140-character posts, is expanding their advertising business side.
Reuters reported that they are now offering mobile ads for people to install apps on their social network, but also through MoPub. Twitter acquired MoPub, a mobile-advertising network, last year.
Seeing the rise in the use of mobile devices and app downloads or purchases, app developers are paying surging amounts of money to advertise on Facebook and other social media sites to boost their downloads among users.
Twitter claimed that it could eventually reach 1 billion unique mobile devices through MoPub. They paid $350 million for the network.
