WASHINGTON — Another Tunisian opposition leader has been killed in the post-Arab Spring turmoil. Mohamed Brahmi, was a member of the secular and nationalist Tunisian National Party, was shot and killed.
Reuters reports that this is the second time that a Tunisian opposition leader has been assassinated in the post-Arab Spring turmoil.
Chokri Belaid, who was one of the top opposition politicians in Tunisia, was assassinated six months ago outside his home in the capital city of Tunis. It led to violent protests and accusations that the Islamist party in Tunisia was behind it. No one has been arrested in Belaid’s assassination.
