WASHINGTON — To try to dampen the excitement about their chief video game competitor, Microsoft, Sony announced their launch date for their newest video game console PlayStation 4.
Reuters reported that their impending battle with Microsoft’s Xbox One could make or break the Japanese company’s struggle to make profit as smartphones and tablets have hurt their sales in recent years.
The PS4 will launch February 22nd in Japan and it will be released November 15th in the U.S. It will cost $399 in the U.S. and $400 in Japan. It is still cheaper than Microsoft’s Xbox One which is priced at $499 and will be released November 22nd.
