WASHINGTON — Edward Snowden will not lead to worse U.S.-Russia relations, at least that’s what Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman told reporters last week.

vladimir putin smilingReuters reports that Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Putin was not involved in talks with NSA leaker Edward Snowden and his application for asylum, although Putin publicly considered giving Snowden asylum.

Yet Russia refuses to hand over Snowden after several American requests. But, it does not help when President Obama said he doesn’t feel he has to directly ask Russia to do so.
