Protesters block Google Commuter Bus due to Rising Living Costs

WASHINGTON — San Francisco residents protested the influx of high-paying tech jobs and blocked a Google commuter bus for half an hour.

Signs that read, “San Francisco, not for sale” and “Stop evictions now” were spotted among protesters as they chanted and surrounded the bus. The group “Heart of the City” targeted private commuter buses to technology companies like Apple, Facebook and Google. They claim that these buses clog traffic on highways, jam city bus stops and pushes customers away from public transportation.

Commuter bus supporters say that it lessens traffic.
