WASHINGTON — Looks like U.S. President Barack Obama may have his bluff called, but by the American people.
A New York Times/CBS poll showed that the American people want a compromise and a negotiation, which Obama said he would not do.
61% of Americans polled said they want Obama to compromise with the Republicans.
Obama has been adamant, as Senate Majority Leader and Democrat Harry Reid (D-NV), that he will not negotiate with Republicans on how to fund the federal government. The deadline for funding the government is this week and Obama wants no restrictions on how to do so.
Republicans have proposed an alternative solution of defunding ObamaCare, Obama’s disastrous health care law, while funding the government. Some even proposed an alternative of delaying the implementation of the health care law one more year but still fund the government.
America will see who will blink first.
