WASHINGTON — At a liberal nonprofit called Third Way, U.S. President Barack Obama’s chief economic adviser said that Obama can use unilateral executive action to help restart the struggling American economy.
Reuters reported that Jason Furman, the White House Council of Economic Advisers Chairman, said that Obama has executive powers to take unilateral action without Congress.
This is a worrisome trend of the Obama administration to take unilateral executive action and bypass Congress, through executive orders and the use of its executive agencies. Furman said, “an issue like climate change and energy security, there’s a lot we can do administratively”.
Obama has not created a trusted relationship with House or Senate Republicans and whose divisive rhetoric has added to the stagnation within Congress.
