WASHINGTON — The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said that it will fall short of expectations of enrolling Americans in ObamaCare healthcare exchanges.
The Hill reported this past Monday, HHS said up to 9.9 million people will enroll in ObamaCare in 2015. Originally, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) expected closer to 13 million people to enroll in the healthcare exchanges.
It raises questions about the health of the healthcare law, which failed in spectacular fashion last fall in the online enrollment period on Healthcare.Gov. Maryland’s state exchange failed terribly , so much so that they outsourced the enrollment website to Connecticut.
This announcement comes as the U.S. Supreme Court will take up a court case regarding ObamaCare subsidies between federal and state healthcare exchanges.
