WASHINGTON — The new attorney general will not be named before this year’s midterm elections, after Obama’s last one Eric Holder announced his resignation in September.

20130523_holder_obama_largeReuters reported that the White House will announce a successor after the contentious midterm elections. This gives time for Obama to announce a nominee.

Possible nominees are his labor secretary Tom Perez, former White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler and U.S. Solicitor General Don Verrilli.
