WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has overturned a U.S. trade commission’s ruling to ban old Apple products due to patent infringement.
Reuters reports that the U.S. International Trade Commission had banned the imports and sales of iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 3G and iPad 3 3G this past June. Now Samsung has to turn to the courts for a decision.
The ban was in place because the panel decided that Apple infringed on Samsung’s patent, but now that is moot.
Samsung is “disappointed” at the ruling and will appeal to the courts to work things out.
