WASHINGTON — U.S. President Barack Obama indicated last week that he is open to changes occurring in the National Security Agency surveillance program that has both Americans and other countries like Germany upset.

Barack ObamaReuters reports that Obama, who had criticized his predecessor for lack of transparency, is struggling to maintain legitimacy after a plethora of scandals flooded the news.

Some of the news ranged from the IRS targeting conservative tea party groups, to monitoring reporter’s phones and calls to end an intrusive National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance program that was revealed to the public by leaker Edward Snowden.

But, like all his other speeches, it could be another broken promise by Obama to the American people.
