Obama accuses GOP of causing “Unnecessary Damage” to the Economy

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama, known for spiking the political football as he did this past week, continued to criticize Republicans for the partial government shutdown [1]. Obama ignored the fact that he and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, also a Democrat, refused to negotiate with the Republicans.

Barack Obama [2]NBC News reported [3] Obama’s remarks came after the partial government shutdown ended. Ironically, except for the imposed and very public shutdown of public parks [4]┬áthat targeted World War Two veterans [5], nothing else seemed to have been affected in the nation’s capital during the shutdown [6].

Obama could only offer divisive rhetoric, far from his 2008 campaign slogan of “hope and change”, by accusing Republicans of causing and inflicting “completely unnecessary damage on our economy.” Instead of taking blame and responsibility, Obama continued and said, “The American people are completely fed up with Washington…Nothing has done more to undermine our economy these last three years than the kind of tactics that create these manufactured crises.”

Yet, Obama avoided looking in the mirror as the American economy has gotten worse under his two terms with a stagnant economy [7], less young Americans [8] in the workforce and his burdensome health care law known as ObamaCare (whose website cost U.S. taxpayers at least $634 million [9] and still does not work after 17 days).
