Microsoft may buy stake in Foursquare

WASHINGTON — Microsoft is talking with the social networking company Foursquare about buying shares in the company.

foursquare check inReuters reported that Microsoft, which is trying to compete with other companies like Facebook (which bought map app Waze), could develop as talks heat up.

It is at the “rumors and speculation” stage, said Foursquare spokesman Brendan Lewis.
