WASHINGTON — On Tuesday, Israeli military forces shot and killed two Hamas militants they believe were responsible for the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers this year: Marwan Kawasmeh and Amer Abu Aisha.
The Washington Post reported that the two men were killed by Israeli military personnel after they attempted to arrest them, but a gunfight broke out.
The murders of the teens started a 50-day war in Gaza, where Israeli military forces went into the Gaza Strip and destroyed the secret tunnels that Hamas used for infiltrating Israel.
The men were surrounded in a building in Hebron, which was their hiding spot. When the men exited the building, attempting to flee, they were killed.
