WASHINGTON — The House Republicans will not back down from their stance to defund ObamaCare for a year in order to fund the federal government.
Reuters reported that U.S. President Barack Obama and his Democratic supporters will not negotiate with the Republicans, which threatens to shut down the federal government.
This comes as there have been multiple delays of certain parts of the health care law, which is highly unpopular among Americans because the Obama administration has not been clear about what the law means to them. Now, the onus is on Obama and the Democrats to regroup and decide whether to negotiate a one-year delay or not.
Also, in order to raise the debt ceiling for the U.S. government, the GOP are also planning on asking the Democrats to cut more spending in return for increasing the debt limit.
