WASHINGTON — The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is investigating whether Google’s purchase of the map app Waze violates antitrust laws.

waze googleReuters reports that antitrust regulators are looking into Google’s purchase, but have not decided whether it violated laws or not.

Google bought the online Israel-based map app Waze for up to $1 billion in cash. Both the FTC and Google have declined comment on the investigation’s proceedings so far.
