WASHINGTON — A Chinese woman died and started an investigation by Apple, whose iPhone 5 product is supposedly at fault.
Reuters reports that Ma Ailun, 23, came from the western Chinese province of Xinjiang and works as a flight attendant with China Southern Airlines.
She was electrocuted when she answered a phone call on her iPhone 5 while it was charging, Apple said. Apple, in an e-mail, said “We are deeply saddened to learn of this tragic incident and offer our condolences to the Ma family. We will fully investigate and cooperate with authorities in this matter”.
They did not respond to queries as to whether it was an isolated case.
