Accuracy in Media

WASHINGTON — EBay founder Pierre Omidyar is the latest tech giant to get involved in journalism and news reporting and plans to build a grassroots mass media organization.

pierre omidyarReuters reported that Omidyar hired away Glenn Greenwald of the British newspaper The Guardian, of NSA and Edward Snowden fame.

He is following the lead of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who paid $250 million to buy the Washington Post from the Graham family. The Washington Post has seen its revenues struggle like the rest of the newspaper industry with the availability of news on the Internet and through social media.
