WASHINGTON — Vincent Gray, the outgoing mayor of the District of Columbia, rejected a plea deal with federal prosecutors over financial irregularities from his 2012 election campaign.
Fox News reported the plea deal meant Gray would have to plea guilty to a single felony count, but Gray’s team was determined that he would not face any charges if he would plead guilty.
After rejecting the deal, the federal prosecution team has re-interviewed witnesses to shore up their case before a grand jury.
Yet another corrupt Democratic mayor, following in the footsteps of Detroit’s jailed ex-mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and New Orleans’ Ray Nagin.
