WASHINGTON — China is now strengthening defense ties with the Islamic regime government of Iran, at least that is what the Chinese state media has announced.

china iran leadersReuters reported that Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan informed his Iranian defense counterpart, Hossein Dehqan, of his country’s intentions to becoming closer defense allies.

The government-run news agency in China, Xinhua, said Dehqan “remained positive and steady, featuring frequent high-level exchanges and deepened political mutual trust.” The news agency also mentioned that Chang is “confident that the friendly relations between the two countries as well as the armed forces will be reinforced” because of “increased mutual visits and personnel training cooperation between the armed forces.”
