WASHINGTON — A suicide bomb hit a NATO convoy on a road leading to the Kabul, Afghanistan airport on Tuesday. Two American soldiers were killed in the blast, and a Polish soldier as well.

Reuters reported the Taliban claimed responsibility for the killings.

Two other Polish soldiers were wounded in the attack, along with thirteen Afghan civilians and damaged up to seventeen nearby cars.

It is an uneasy peace as the Taliban waits for NATO and the West to withdraw their soldiers from Afghanistan. It is also a time where the Afghan presidency remains in limbo after the recent presidential election reached a stalemate.
