WASHINGTON — The maker of the hit game “Candy Crush Saga” is now looking for at least $7.6 billion in initial public offering (IPO) when it goes public this month in the U.S.
Reuters reported that King Digital Entertainment Plc., which made the hit mobile phone game, will try to capitalize on the emerging $17 billion market for mobile phone game apps.
Investors are skeptical after the collapse of rival Zynga Inc., which was known for Farmville. But, Candy Crush was the most downloaded free app, but has payment options available for users. The game makes up almost 3/4 of the company’s revenue.
