WASHINGTON — California is trying to stop a federal court order that makes them have to reduce crowding in prisons and makeshift prisons in old school gyms, or release 8,000 inmates before completion of their sentences.

crowded CA inmatesReuters reported that the state could be held in contempt of a federal court order, but the state officials are trying to delay its implementation until a more comprehensive plan could be reached and executed.

The deadline is January 27th and it could be very dangerous for the state and its residents. But one of the major problems is how there are budget restraints, in addition to political turmoil.
