WASHINGTON — The United Kingdom is facing one of the toughest battles in recent history yet: the potential independence of Scotland from their country.

Cameron flew to Scotland to help stem the potential tide of support for Scottish independence. Polls remain close and many remained undecided, which is causing the significant unease and uncertainty by British lawmakers.

Also, the primary concerns about Scottish independence center around the Scottish currency post-independence, national security and potential for job loss to the United Kingdom.

The referendum will take place on September 18th.
