Boston Marathon Bomber pleads Not Guilty

WASHINGTON — The surviving Boston Marathon Bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, has pleadedĀ “not guilty” to the 30 counts that the federal prosecution team has charged him with.

boston strong marathon [1]Reuters reports [2] that the younger Tsarnaev, whose older brother Tamerlan died during the manhunt after the bombing, said that he was not guilty of the aforementioned charges.

Dzhokhar is 19 years old and is an ethnic Chechen, and whose attack killed 3 people, injured 264 people and cost them their legs, in addition to shooting a university police officer dead.

The Associated Press blamed “teen angst [3]” for the bombings, when Tamerlan had been tracked (and lost [4]) by Russian authorities for adopting radical Islamist [5] ideology. Still, they nearly outsmarted [6] the FBI and Boston police until Tamerlan was killed and Dzhokhar apprehended, hiding in a boat in a local’s backyard.

The defense team is struggling to find a way to spare Dzhokhar the death penalty, even though this was the deadliest domestic attack on U.S. soil since September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.
