WASHINGTON — Black Friday was a dark day for retail sales, at least that is what the initial profit reports tell analysts.
Reuters reported that the heavy discounting may have depressed American retail sales during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend last week, hurt by consumers who spent 3% less than last year.
However, online purchases soared this year and could be a bright spot for future discount and holiday seasons. Best Buy warned analysts that this could happen as the economy struggles.
It also does not help that the American economy continues to struggle under the bad economic policies and over-regulation by the Obama administration.
