Benghazi: Car Bomb hits Swedish Consulate, no one hurt

WASHINGTON — A car bomb detonated close to the Swedish consulate in Benghazi, Libya, marking an escalation in intra-Libya violence since the fall of dictator Moamar Qaddafi.

libya car bomb swedish consulate [1]Reuters reported [2] that the U.S. capture of a key al-Qaeda figure [3] on the run in Libya sparked another run of violence.

The consulate was damaged as well as nearby houses, but no casualties were reported.

The car bomb exploded a day after the Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan was kidnapped by former rebels in Benghazi and released soon afterward.

Benghazi, Libya, is also the center of an ongoing and laborious investigation of the disastrous terrorist attack on the American consulate there. Four Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, were killed. The mainstream media has silenced any investigation [4] or questions regarding the solemn anniversary of 9/11/12 [5], in addition to the suppressive tactics of the Obama administration. Whistleblowers have been intimidated and silenced, but we at AIM are conducting an ongoing Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi [6] to find the truth.
