WASHINGTON — To keep up with its competitors, especially after Netflix and Amazon are trying to corner the market of streaming services, Apple made several big announcements during its annual conference yesterday.
In San Francisco, Apple unveiled the new iTunes Radio and a revamped design of its main operating system.iTunes Radio will be free and will compete with the likes of Pandora and allows users to customize music by genre and personal taste.
It is a free service but streams ads as well across all of its devices and Apple TV. For subscribers to the new iTunes Match (a digital content feature), there will not be any ads.
The new iOS 7 will be available this fall and has new interfaces and icons, allowing for multitasking. Siri now has female and male voices available for users and is directly integrated with Microsoft’s Bing search engine.
On top of that, Apple showed off its newest line of computers as well.
