WASHINGTON — Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai again rejected a U.S. security deal and resisted such pressures.

hamid karzaiReuters reported that Karzai called this move a colonial power-type problem, and said that the Americans are provoking this kind of response and deserve it.

He was interviewed by the French newspaper Le Monde, Karzai said the special U.S. envoy to Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan, James Dobbings, pretty much told him that without a security agreement there will not be any peace in the region.

Karzai called this action a “classic colonial exploitation”.
