Accuracy in Media

In the wake of four days and dozens of interviews with Democrats at the DNC Ionessco play in Boston it is painfully obvious the Democrats on intent on purveying perception over reality and form over substance. As my friend Debra J. Saunders has observed, “the gulf between rhetoric and reality is breathtaking.”

I interviewed over two dozen Demoncrat representatives including former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, Governor Jim Doyle of Wisconsin, Congressman Bob Ethridge of North Carolina, a handful of former Ambassadors and other assorted DNC flacks.

My mantra of ‘some people don’t want to be confused with FACTS that contradict their preconceived opinion and/or prejudices’ is personified by the Kerry/Edwards-DNC duplicity.

Sen. John Kerry claims he is strongest Presidential Candidate on National Defense!
His voting record suggests otherwise.

He voted to kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle
He voted to kill the M-1 Abrams Tank
He voted to kill every Aircraft carrier laid down from 1988
He voted to kill the Aegis anti aircraft system
He voted to Kill the F-15 strike eagle
He voted to Kill the Block 60 F-16
He voted to Kill the P-3 Orion upgrade
He voted to Kill the B-1
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the Patriot anti Missile system
He voted to Kill the FA-18
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the F117
He voted to kill every military appropriation for the development and deployment of every weapons systems since 1988, including a bill for battle armor for our troops.

John Kerry voted to kill all anti-terrorism activities of each and every agency of the U.S. Government.

He voted to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%,
He voted to cut the funding for the CIA by 80%,
He voted to cut the funding for the NSA by 80%.
THEN, contrary to nonpartisan American conventional wisdom he voted to increase OUR funding for U.N operations by 800-flipping-percent!!!

93% of the Fleet Center Democrat delegates believed that ending Saddam Hussein’s regime was not worth the costs.  Contrast that with the reality that nationwide, the country is divided 50-50 on that issue.

Although 20% of Democratic voters consider themselves conservative (not just Senator Zell Miller) only 3% of the delegates dared to acknowledge such a “sin”.

Forty-four percent of the delegates openly support so-called same-sex marriage, whereas only 25% of American voters support that radical position.

75% the delegates think abortion “should be available to those who want it” for any reason?anytime/anywhere.  However, only 34% of the American people take that position.

It is a given that traditionally party conventions are designed to feed red meat to the base.  However, if the conventional wisdom is true, the bases are locked. This election will be decided by the 11% of American voters who don’t subscribe to the gospel according to the right OR the left. The Boston convention attendees were not only far out of the American mainstream?they were in absolute Ted Kennedy/Al Sharpton denial.

I specifically sought out former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich because I suffered the misconception that he was one of the few honest and real smart Clinonistas.  However, when I asked him a question that introduced facts that contradicted the gospel according to Terry McAuliff, Professor Reich said, “I don’t want to talk about that.  I want to talk about health care, the economy and jobs?.” There was no Diogines within twenty miles of the city with more colleges than pigeons.

Boston was neither my first or last political convention.  However, to be honest, unless or until there is a radical change (which is unlikely) the Democrat AND Republican party conventions have become anachronisms and no longer worth the sound and fury.

Contemporary party conventions have become so scripted, orchestrated, and choreographed that they are all sizzle and no steak.

There is no controversy or question about who the nominee will be.  There is no opportunity for party platform battles (not that anyone really pays attention or cares ‘Jack-Spit’about the ‘platform’).

For me the most shameful presumption of the Boston dog and pony pep rally was John Kerry “reporting for duty” and exploiting his abbreviated service and flipping off the one constituency/voter block that will ultimately secure his defeat.

I spent time with Steve Sherman’s ignored group of disgruntled Vietnam veteran luminaries.  They included Medal of Honor recipients (Tom Hudnerl and Jon Cavaiani, Delta Force veteran Logan Fitch, POWs and SOG veterans.  Despite our best efforts to get them some (any) publicity for the four day seminar ‘Examining Vietnam Myths’ they were successfully ignored by the legion of media who ‘claim’ to be committed to being ‘fair and balanced’.

I guarandamntee that come November veterans and active duty military will not be ignored in the vote count.

The New York Post  recently ran a story about Kerry’s military myopia. The candidate attempted to exploit a few Marines and got a quickie reality check. The Marines “were polite but curt while chatting with Kerry, answering most of his questions with a ‘yes, sir’ or ‘no, sir.’ But they turned downright nasty after the Massachusetts senator thanked them ‘for their service’ and left.”

“He imposed on us and I disagree with him coming over here shaking our hands,” one Marine said, adding, “I’m 100 percent against [him].”

Semper Fi Marine?you are not the Lone Ranger.
