USA Today Gives Space to Radical Muslim Cleric to Bash France Over Charlie Hebdo

One day after the massacre at the offices of  the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, USA Today decided to run an opinion piece [2] by a radical Muslim cleric, Anjem Choudary, who blasted the French government for not censoring the magazine and thereby placing its citizens in danger:

So why in this case did the French government allow the magazine Charlie Hebdo to continue to provoke Muslims, thereby placing the sanctity of its citizens at risk?

Choudary also said that “contrary to popular misconception, Islam does not mean peace but rather means submission to the commands of Allah alone.” He said that Muslims are obligated to defend the Prophet Muhammad, and, as the Messenger Muhammad said,”Whoever insults a Prophet kill him.”

The massacre at the Charlie Hebdo office left 12 dead. It was horrific and indefensible, and for USA Today to give voice to Choudary and his venomous opinions is inexcusable.
