President Trump has stepped up his Twitter attacks on Democrats over his firing of FBI Director James Comey. He sent out a tweet that included a video montage of several liberal politicians criticizing the former director, including some who had previously called for his resignation.
Among those in the video are Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) saying of Comey that “it would not be a bad thing for the American people if he did step down;” Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) at a press conference telling the media that Comey “has no credibility;” and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) saying that “maybe he’s not in the right job.”
The video ends with a series of off-camera statements from other Democrats who have been critical of Comey in the past.
This hypocrisy has been lost on the liberal media, who have chosen instead to push Democratic talking points about Trump having fired Comey because he wants to cover up the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. They are comparing Comey’s firing to Watergate, when Nixon fired special prosecutor Archibald Cox in 1973. Those arguments are without merit.
The Democrats should be ashamed. This is a disgrace!#DrainTheSwamp pic.twitter.com/UfbKEECm2V
