cnn poll page malaysian flight

A new CNN/ORC international poll on what people believe happened to the missing Malaysian Air flight MH370, took an odd twist, by including space aliens as an option:

Fewer Americans — about 42% — think hijackers may have been involved, while 9% believe that space aliens or beings from another dimension were involved.

Other options included terrorism, actions by the pilots and mechanical failure.

While polls like this are notoriously unscientific, they can serve as a useful tool to gauge the public’s opinion on a specific topic. But CNN’s inclusion of the space alien option shows that they weren’t taking the poll or the issue of the missing plane very seriously.

Don Lemon, who did a segment on the poll Tuesday on CNN Special Report, apparently felt the same way, as he omitted any mention of space aliens.

Time to pop a copy of X-Files into the dvd player.
