The terrorist attack that left 14 people dead at a holiday party in San Bernardino boosted the viewership of all the cable news networks for the week of November 30. The biggest beneficiary was Fox News, which finished No. 1 in both prime time and total-day viewers among all ad-supported cable networks. In prime time, Fox News averaged 2.77 million viewers, edging out ESPN, which normally is the top rated cable network.
CNN broke into the Top 10, finishing No. 9 in prime time and No. 10 in total day, while long-suffering MSNBC ranked No. 19 in prime time and No. 21 in total day. CNN’s sister network, HLN, finished No. 48 in prime time and No. 31 in total day.
