CNN’s Jake Tapper wished President Donald Trump well as he recovers from the coronavirus, the proceeded to rip him for what he said were his “failures of recklessness, ignorance, arrogance,” for how he has handled the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tapper made his comments at the end of his State of the Union program Sunday.

“I wish you all health and recovery and a long life, but we have to note the tragedy here. It is horrible and awful and profound. Sick and in isolation, Mr. President, you have become a symbol of your own failures. Failures of recklessness, ignorance, arrogance, the same failures you have been inflicting on the rest of us. Get well, and please, for the rest of us who don’t get to go to Walter Reed, get well and get it together.”

Trump announced via Twitter early Friday morning that he and his wife Melania had tested positive for COVID-19 and entered Walter Reed National Military Medical Center later that day as a precautionary measure.

Since entering the hospital, Trump has been tweeting away, including a video message update on his condition and thanking the public the support he has received since making his diagnosis public.
