Accuracy in Media

How soon they forget.

On the evening of the New Hampshire primary in 2016, Donald Trump thanked Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinksi for believing in his quest for the presidency.

“You guys have been supporters. And I really appreciate it. And not necessarily supporters, but at least believers,” Trump told the duo.

Now Scarborough is so fed up with Trump–especially after tweeting about his fiance Mika Brzezinksi–that he announced on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday evening he was leaving the Republican party.

“You have to ask yourself, what exactly is the Republican Party willing to do?” Scarborough, with Brzezinksi by his side, said to Colbert. “How far are they willing to go? How much of this country and our values are they willing to sell out?”

“Aren’t you a Republican?” Colbert asked.

“I am a Republican, but I’m not going to be a Republican anymore. I’ve got to become an independent.”

At least now Scarborough can remove the pretense that he really was anything but a Republican In Name Only for all these years while he officially becomes a member of the liberal media.
