PBS, which has been the target of conservatives and President Trump for its liberal-leaning programming, announced that it will launch a conservative talk show in April featuring former George W. Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson and former host on Glenn Beck’s The Blaze network Amy Holmes.

The show, called In Principle, will start its eight-week trial run April 13 and will be modeled after William F. Buckley’s Firing Line, which ran for 28 years on PBS at a time when conservatives rarely appeared on television.

PBS said the format of the show will feature Gerson and Holmes having lengthy conversations with two guests per program “from across the ideological spectrum in the worlds of politics, policy, the arts and academia” about the “larger discussions taking place in the country today.”

Even though PBS is billing the show as conservative, both Gerson and Holmes are often critical of Trump.
