On Monday night Keith Olbermann continued his attack on the Tea Party by citing a Daily Kos/Public Policy Polling survey that showed that 13% of Tea Party voters favored violence against the current American government.
What Olbermann left out according to Tommy Christopher of Mediaite was as even bigger number(17%) of 18-29 year-olds who felt the same way. This is the demographic of Jared Lee Loughner and not that of the Tea Party but that was of little consequence to Olbermann.
As Christopher pointed out the 18-29 group is actually the smallest demo of the Tea Party and if anything are even more ticked off at the government than the Tea Partiers.
Olbermann brought the 13% number out again in his interview with David Corn of Mother Jones to reinforce his opinion that the Tea Party are lunatics. Corn told Olbermann that Tea Party supporters are paranoid and were like the black helicopter gang on the 1990’s.
Once again no mention of the larger 17% number from Loughner’s demographic which should have alarmed Olbermann even more except for the fact that it would have weakened his Tea Party argument.
