Accuracy in Media

I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised since gay marriage is legal in Canada, but when I ran across a story from Reuters on swingers’ clubs I was taken aback to say the least.

On December 21st the Supreme Court of Canada issued a decision lifting a ban on the swingers’ clubs ruling that “Consensual conduct behind code-locked doors can hardly be supposed to jeopardize a society as vigorous and tolerant as Canadian society,” said the opinion of the seven-to-two majority, written by Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin.

Ah, yes group sex in the name of tolerance.

It also didn’t qualify as prostitution since money didn’t exchange hands.

That doesn’t mean that the participants aren’t prostituting themselves though.  At one club L’Orage Tuesday night is “gang bang ” night.  Yikes!  Where are the women’s rights advocates?  Probably biting their tongues since they don’t dare criticize a liberal government.

The decision appears to only have widened the divide between English-speaking Canada (firmly against) and the French-speaking areas (indifferent).

So if you are concerned about the moral decay in America.  Cheer up, you could have been living in Canada. Eh?
