For the second time in three weeks, The New York Times omitted the party affiliation of a Democrat who was in legal trouble.
On Sept. 5, the Times omitted the fact that Sen. Robert Menendez is a Democrat in a lengthy article on his upcoming corruption trial. After being heavily criticized on Twitter, the Times added the party affiliation to the article calling saying that their failure to do so was an “oversight.”
Hi Alex, thanks for noting it. it was inadvertently dropped from earlier versions and has been restored.

There was an earlier version mentioning the party affiliation, but Weiser explained the omission in later versions as being inadvertent.
