Accuracy in Media

The Dixie Chicks controversial politics are beginning to catch up with them when it comes to albums sales.  Their new album, “Taking The Long Way” finished its first week in the number one slot on the Billboard charts with sales of 525,000 copies but that is a far cry from their last album which sold 780,000 copies in the same time period.

Compare that to the country band Rascal Flatts whose new album sold 722,000 copies in one week in April and you can see just how disaffected fans are with the Chicks.

In the short run they will probably continue to sell a lot of albums, but if this dropoff in sales accelerates they will find themselves as nothing more than lounge singers trying to stoke their inflated egos for chicken feed.
