elizabeth warren defends planned parenthood

In a scathing attack on Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), MSNBC Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough said that her speech from the well of the Senate on Monday defending government funding of Planned Parenthood was conflating opposition to Planned Parenthood with opposition to health care for women, and that she needs to “stop insulting our intelligence.”

“I come to ask my Republican colleagues a question,” Warren said. “Do you have any idea what year it is? Did you fall down, hit your head and think you woke up in the 1950s or the 1890s? Should we call for a doctor?”

Warren added that a Republican scheme to defund Planned Parenthood wasn’t a “surprise response to a highly edited video,” but “just one more piece of a deliberate, methodical, orchestrated right-wing attack on women’s rights.”

Scarborough said that Planned Parenthood is not synonymous with women’s health, and that Warren’s argument was nothing more than a “red herring.”

I’m just saying, conflating the right to choose with Planned Parenthood, conflating taxpayer dollars going to Planned Parenthood with protecting women’s health, that’s just a red herring,” Scarborough said. “It has been set up that way so you can’t have this discussion without being against women’s health. But you can be against the funding of Planned Parenthood without being against the support of women’s health care. Nice try, Elizabeth.”

Even Scarborough’s liberal co-host Mika Brzezinski had to agree that the videos were bad and that it was only going to get worse for Planned Parenthood.

The liberal media have gone to great lengths to suppress coverage of the undercover videos, but they have failed in that effort. As a result, the real truth about Planned Parenthood and their practices are finally coming to light.
