MSNBC recorded its worst total-day ratings in nearly 10 years on Tuesday, led by the flailing Ronan Farrow Daily, which pulled a paltry 11,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo. With those numbers, MSNBC has sunk below even Al Jazeera America’s News Live, which doubled Farrow’s demo with 22,000 viewers—a nearly equally paltry number.
By comparison, Fox News Channel’s Happening Now averaged 202,000 viewers in the demo, and CNN’s Wolf drew 154,000. Ronan’s total viewership was just 158,000 and barely above what Blitzer drew in the demo alone.
The liberal “Lean Forward” network managed to average just 55,000 viewers in the demo, which was the worst ratings it has had in the total-day category since July 2005, and only underscores just what a mess MSNBC is at the moment.
After a terrible January in which MSNBC saw its daytime ratings fall 20 percent overall and 37 percent in the demo from the previous year, February is off to an ominous start and signals yet another down month for a network that’s being hoisted by its own liberal petard.
