Liberal cable news network MSNBC crushed rival Fox News in the ratings on Tuesday night during primetime thanks to the airing of the GOP Presidential debate.
The debate, which drew 5.4 million viewers overall, was the first one featuring Texas Gov. Rick Perry and it more than delivered for MSNBC.
In the key A24-54 demographic MSNBC registered a whopping 1.7 million viewers in the first hour, which was more than Fox attracted between 8 and 11 p.m. combined. It was also more than eight times the average number of viewers that regular MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell attracted the night before.
Maybe this will give MSNBC president Phil Griffin food for thought about what type of programming viewers really want.
