disrupt karen finney canceled

MSNBC, which has struggled to gain traction with its weekend programming, brought down the axe on another show this week with the announcement that they were canceling Disrupt with Karen Finney after less than one year on the air.

According to TVNewser, Disrupt with Karen Finney never really got out of the starting gate, attracting just 14,000 viewers in the key A25-54 demo, and regularly finished fourth in both total viewers and the demo.

Finney, who has been active in Democratic politics for more than 20 years and is a former deputy press secretary to Hillary Clinton, will remain with the network as a political commentator, a position she has held since 2009.

No word on what will replace Finney’s weekend program, but since her ratings were so low, whatever MSNBC decides to air in her former slot certainly couldn’t do much worse.
