NBC News’ lavish spending on Megyn Kelly is irritating some of her colleagues at the network, according to The New York Post’s Page Six.

Kelly, who is on a five-day nationwide tour visiting affiliates in major markets, is traveling in style— flying on a charter jet with a support staff of five or six people, including a hairstylist, a makeup artist, a publicist and a security detail.

One source told Page Six that “People are outraged over her divalike ways,” and wondering when NBC will stop throwing money at her.

Kelly reportedly is being paid $18 million per year for her services at NBC.

An NBC insider pushed back against the heavy spending charges, telling the Post that the affiliates tour is standard operating procedure when launching a new show—or in this case a new hour of the “Today” Show, and that most of the staffers for her morning show were already working for “Today” and the expenses for the show’s launch were budgeted far in advance.

NBC News is hoping that Kelly’s foray into the morning hour will work out better than her Sunday prime time program, which failed to attract much of an audience and repeatedly finished behind repeats of “60 Minutes” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos” in the ratings.
