Megyn Kelly, who parlayed her success at Fox News into a big contract at NBC, ended her first week of her new morning show by taking a shot at the media, which has been less than kind to her.
“I just want to take a moment to thank all of you for watching this week,” she told the audience. “It has been educational. I’ve just been so delighted that the media response which has really been — NO! — the viewer response has been awesome. And I’m so grateful to have all of you giving us a chance.”
Kelly’s show had a rough start, with Will and Grace star Debra Messing saying she regretted appearing on the show after Kelly asked an audience member if he became a lawyer and gay because of Will, who is a gay lawyer on the show. She had another awkward moment on Wednesday when she asked Jane Fonda about her plastic surgery, showing she still has a lot to learn about being a morning show host.
