For the first time since 2008, CNN will not have a seat at the moderator table for the presidential debates.
The Commission on Presidential Debates announced Wednesday that the moderators for the 2020 debates between former Vice President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump will consist of journalists from Fox News, C-SPAN and NBC.
Wallace, who conducted a widely praised interview with Trump in July, will host the first debate in Cleveland on September 29. The debate will give the veteran journalist an opportunity to quiz Biden who has so far avoided appearing on his Sunday program. The DNC snubbed Fox News during their presidential primary debates.
The second debate which will be a town-hall style format will be moderated by C-SPAN’s Steve Scully in Miami on October 15.
Kristen Welker, NBC’s White House correspondent, will moderate the final debate on October 22 in Nashville.
